Website Design UI/UX
2UTEC needed to find, interview and hire talent to help them execute and manage their heavy workload. As they target and reach out to candidates, prospects will be referencing their website and brand. To aid with the prospect's conversion journey, a redesign of the website was needed as well as a brand refresh.
Project Overview
I met with the owners and marketing director of 2UTEC to discuss the refreshing of their brand and website presence.
When I help companies like this redesign their website, typically, I begin with some initial meetings and discuss the project from a high level, identifying project goals, scope and budget. We discussed the following phases of a successful website redesign:
1. SEO and Marketing/Sales Strategy
2. Branding Strategy
3. User Experience Strategy
4. Website Content (visual and verbal)
5. Design
6. Development
7. SEO
8. Launch
9. Training to use CMS
10. Ongoing Support, Marketing Campaigns to drive traffic, Analytics reporting
Current Website Audit & Analysis
I took a close look at the 2UTEC website, search engine presence, and business goals. I also did a competative analysis of the other companies in the tech space, both website UX and traffic numbers from search engines.
I found that their page speed was quite slow and there were several obvious issues with the navigation and layout. The overall usability issues obviously called for a rethink.
Conception, Design, and Execution of Digital Visuals
To help solve the adoption issues 2UTEC was having with their name, I introduced the following solutions to the website design. First, every time 2UTEC is in print, it is in all caps. Secondly, I repeated the name 2UTEC very often in the copy and bolded it throughout the website.
Even though writing copy was not part of my scope of work, I wrote a lot of content for 2UTEC. Some of it I picked up from one of the sales documents they shared with me, some I picked up from the old website, some I picked up from our meetings, and some I wrote based on my research, looking at competitor and industry sites.
Brand Referesh & Logo Design
I had a discovery meeting with the owners of 2UTEC to discuss a new logo design. I knew that a strong brand would cause the website design to be a success. The concept behind the new brand is that 2UTEC means confident people who are knowledgeable and accessible and who can be relied upon to consistently simplify the ever-changing world of technology and have custom solutions to any technology-related problem.
